help

A text input can contain several analyses of the same mineral type, either in oxide or element wt-%.
  • First line must contain one term for the analysis ID, followed by the OXIDE (e.g. SiO2, Fe2O3) or ELEMENT (e.g. Si, Fe, Fe3+) names. If the very first word of this line match a mineral type defined in the normalization (e.g. biotite, garnet...), it will automatically pre-select the normalization parameter for this mineral.
  • Each following line(s) must contain one analysis, with an analysis number or identifier in the first place. Each line must contain exactly the same list of oxide or element as defined in the first line. Data should NOT contain total wt-%; totals are automatically recalculated. All values must be separated by comma, semicolon or tabulation. Easiest way to input data is to copy a series of cells in a spreadsheet and paste it here; value should then be tabulation delimited.
Ensure to enter the oxide or element name correctly; input is CaSe SenSiTiVe!

WARNING: if entering element with oxygen wt-%, default oxidation state will be loaded unless you specify the oxidation state (e.g. Fe3+, Cu+). However, you can still change the oxidation state in the next page. If data do not contain oxygen wt-%, it will be assumed that the analysis is elemental only (e.g. alloy), and only cation normalization will be available.
